Michael Gottlieb

Michael has both vision and creativity, and is able to integrate them to create spectacular music products.

With his career extending many years in the licensing industry, Michael Gottlieb began with Warner Bros. reestablishing their own Consumer Products and Merchandise Licensing company in their first London office. Gottlieb was fortunate to work on the world famous Looney Tunes character grouping and the soon-to-be dominate motion pictures based on DC Comics impactful superheroes: Superman, Batman and more. These two large and broadly appealing properties allowed Gottlieb to test his naturally creative concept development abilities and business instincts in nearly all demographic market segments and retail categories.

Gottlieb’s creative development programmes have won many awards two examples of which are the EMI Music Publishing and Sainsbury’s placing song lyrics on clothing… which won the Licensed Apparel Award in 2009 and Sony/ATV’s licensing programme with Mothercare and Marks and Spencer—the Mothercare campaign won the Best Direct to Retail License for 2007 from Global License magazine.

Clients past and present include Sony/ATV; Carlin; EMI; Imagem Music; Peermusic; Universal Music; Warner Chappell as well as Richard Hammond; Donny Osmond; and Sooty & Sweep.

20 years in retail as a buyer, brand manager, product developer and licensing controller for Tesco, Toys ‘r’ Us, Mothercare and Disney Stores – giving me a complete understanding of what retail require and also how to deliver it for them by navigating their process.

5 years working directly in licensing; starting with Fluid World on Hello Kitty and 3 years as a Director with DreamWorks delivering Trolls for UK retail; today I am working with clients like Beano Studios, CentaIP, Warner Chappell Music, BMG and Sony ATV.
